New Series of Trombone Jazz Etudes Added

I’m happy to announce a brand new series of jazz etudes that I’ve just added to the member’s section, bringing the total to over 60 jazz etudes for trombone on the site! These etudes are designed for trombone players ranging from easy to intermediate levels, and they’re all written to fit perfectly with Jamie Aebersold’s Vol. 54 – Maiden Voyage play-along album. But don’t feel limited to that—these etudes sound great with a pianist, a rhythm section, or an iReal Pro track.

Whether you’re a seasoned jazz player looking to expand your bag of tricks or a classical trombonist curious about the world of jazz, there’s something in here for you. Jazz players—feel free to steal licks and make them your own (I won’t tell!). Non-improvising players—use these etudes to dive into jazz phrasing and style. Even if you’re not soloing yet, these etudes will give you great insight into jazz language.

If you enjoy playing over classic jazz standards, you’ll love working with these etudes. I’ve hand-picked play-along tracks for many of them, but feel free to experiment with your own backing options. And remember, if the tempo doesn’t suit you, there’s a metronome built right into each page, so you can adjust as needed.

Want to keep track of your progress? You can take personal notes for each etude directly on the page, and you can save the sheet music as pdf for print or export them to forScore.

Check out the new trombone jazz etudes in the member’s section, and get ready to have some fun! 🎶

Slide on!
