Privacy Policy — Chord Chaser

1. Data we collect

  • No personal data is collected.

  • The app may temporarily store:

    • Quiz progress & visit counters (locally on device via localStorage)

  • All data is kept locally on the users device.

2. Audio & device permissions

We request:

  • Audio playback permission (to allow sound in background and silent mode)

  • Haptics access (vibration feedback during quizzes)

  • App state listeners via Capacitor framework to support background audio

    These are system-level features only, not user surveillance or tracking.

3. Optional user actions that may share data

If you press Share, the following may be shared using:

  • A text message you edit plus a link to ChordChaser

  • This content is sent directly from your device to the app you choose (Messages, Mail, etc.)

  • We do not read, store, or log shared messages.

4. How data is stored

  • All stored data lives only on your device.

  • We do not use cookies, ads, analytics, or external tracking tools.

  • Audio files are loaded from your app bundle

5. Third-party libraries used

The app is built with:

  • Vite (app build system, static bundler)

  • React (UI rendering)

  • Capacitor (native iOS/Android bridge, handles media permissions)

  • Tone.js (sound generation & instruments inside Web Audio, plays audio but may respect silent mode unless upgraded by HTML5 audio trigger)

    These libraries do not send personal data on our behalf.

6. Your privacy rights

  • You can delete all data by uninstalling the app.

  • There is no account, login, or server profile attached to this app version.

  • We cannot delete data on your behalf, since we do not store it remotely.
